We are seeking an exceptionally ambitious and entrepreneurial professional to join us as an Operative Co-Founder. This is not a traditional job; it's a foundational role in launching and scaling a dedicated accounting services firm under the Alien Technology Transfer group, with the clear long-term vision of becoming an independent, thriving entity. You will be instrumental in defining, building, and growing this venture from inception, working directly with the founding and managing team. Role Overview

The Operative Co-Founder will be the driving force behind the establishment and growth of our new accounting services venture. This individual will leverage their deep financial expertise, business acumen, and entrepreneurial drive to build a robust service offering, attract clients, and scale operations. You will be responsible for both the strategic direction and the hands-on execution required to launch a successful, client-centric accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision & Business Development:

    • Develop and refine the go-to-market strategy for all accounting services, from basic bookkeeping and payroll to complex tax services, fractional CFO support, and specialized advisory.

    • Identify and secure initial clients (startups and SMEs) through active sales, networking, and business development efforts.

    • Define the brand identity, value proposition, and competitive positioning of the new venture.

    • Establish pricing models and service packages.

  • Service Delivery & Operational Excellence:

    • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of a full suite of accounting services, including:

      • Core Accounting & Bookkeeping: General ledger management, bank reconciliations, AP/AR, financial statement preparation (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).

      • Payroll Processing: Full payroll cycle management, tax filings (941, 940, W-2/W-3).

      • Tax Services: Federal and state income tax preparation for various entities (Sole Props, Partnerships, S-Corps, C-Corps, LLCs), sales tax, tax planning, and IRS audit support.

      • Advanced Financial Services: Fractional CFO/Controller services, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial analysis, KPI tracking, business advisory, and software implementation.

      • Specialized Services: public contracts and grants accounting.

    • Design and implement efficient operational workflows and best practices to ensure high-quality service delivery.

    • Select and integrate appropriate accounting software and technological tools as the venture scales.

  • Marketing & Brand Building:

    • Develop and execute strategic marketing actions to generate leads and build brand awareness.

    • Leverage digital marketing, content creation, partnerships, and other channels to reach the target audience.

    • Articulate complex accounting solutions clearly and compellingly to potential clients.

  • Financial Management & Growth:

    • Manage the financial performance of the new venture, focusing on profitability and scalability.

    • Contribute to the strategic planning for the venture's eventual separation and independent growth from Alien Technology Transfer.

  • Leadership & Autonomy:

    • Operate with a high degree of independence and self-motivation, taking full ownership of the venture's success.

    • Work directly and collaboratively with the Alien Technology Transfer Founders, providing regular updates and strategic insights.

    • Potentially build and lead a team as the venture grows.

Who You Are:

  • A US Citizen with a strong understanding of the US business and regulatory environment.

  • CPA Certified with significant hands-on experience in both economics and accounting.

  • Profound knowledge of corporate finance principles and applications.

  • Proven experience in sales or business development, with a track record of acquiring and growing client relationships.

  • Demonstrated understanding and practical deployment of strategic marketing actions.

  • Highly determined, entrepreneurial, and possess a strong spirit of initiative. You thrive in environments where you can build from scratch.

  • Experienced in working autonomously with minimal supervision. You are a self-starter who can set goals and achieve them independently.

  • Potentially holds an MBA, demonstrating advanced business acumen.

  • Potentially has prior experience in freelancing or has successfully founded and operated their own accounting company. This indicates a proven entrepreneurial spirit and a deep understanding of service business operations.
