As a Senior Grant Team Manager, you will be responsible for driving the success of the entire US SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) Innovation Consulting business line. You will oversee multiple project consulting teams, working with clients and preparing grant proposals to be submitted to the SBIR funding scheme. You will be involved in defining strategies, implementing effective CRM, and contributing to improving internal management processes. You will also play a key role in high-level client relationships and act as a coach to help develop the department’s technical and soft skills by sharing knowledge and experience, giving frequent feedback, and creating opportunities for team members to learn and grow. 

During the first 6 months (approx.) after joining, you will operate as a Project Consultant preparing proposals for clients. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the full range of activities required to conceptualize, write, and submit SBIR grant proposals to NIH. You will be responsible for producing high quality scientific documents for funding applications. In addition, you will be responsible for supporting our clients as they interface with the Funding Agencies. Successful completion of this period will lead to you becoming a manager of your own team of Project Consultants for an additional 6 months (approx.), after which you will assume full responsibility as the Senior Grant Team Manager. You will report directly to the CTO, who will also provide all necessary training for the role.

 

You must possess a genuine passion for technology and business, be highly analytical and articulate, have a strong command of English, and a love for writing. You must be a team player, well organized, and also keen to take on responsibility. Key qualities include being able to demonstrate leadership, an entrepreneurial mindset and a high degree of stamina to work within an ambitious and goal-driven environment. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with the CTO by developing and implementing strategic decisions for growth;

  • Preparing and implementing new procedures and training for the entire business line;

  • Team management (hiring, onboarding and training, daily meetings, performance review, communication of strategic decisions);

  • Management of ongoing client pipeline including proposals under preparation and funded projects;

  • Project proposal reviewing: Analyzing business plans and technical documents related to innovative technologies and businesses to be developed within the project; reviewing proposals prepared by your team, ensuring a high standard prior to their submission;

  • Supporting relationship management with clients and relevant stakeholders involved in the innovative product/ service development process through meetings, calls, and emails.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD. in Life Science (Bioengineering, Biomedical, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Neurosciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.);

  • Prior experience in a management role with business acumen;

  • Fluent English;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Previous work experience in writing proposals for public research funding programs in English language;

  • Mid-term stay abroad among past experiences is desirable.
